Pryor to Success event seeking donations for August Back to School event

School supplies are being collected and an event is on the calendar for the Cedartown Boys and Girls Club in early August for the annual Pryor to Success Summer Extravaganza.

Organizer Teyana Pryor, who began the event in 2022, is beginning her third year of the big back to school event seeking donations of school supplies heading into the heart of the summer break.

Barbers and stylists are also wanted to help take part and provide free haircuts for participating youth, and vendors can grab a spot to help out the organization and have an opportunity to connect with hundreds of parents on hand for the event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 3.

Donations are being accepted for school supplies at the Chick-fil-A of Cedartown on Highway 27 North, the Cedartown Public Library on East Avenue, and Ed’s Cleaners in downtown Cedartown on Main Street.

Note that additional drop off locations are being provided in Atlanta and Kennesaw, with hopes that some out-of-town donations will help youth as well.

Pryor to Success are seeking donations of pencils, paper, spiral notebooks, composition journals, cap erasers, highlighters, crayons and markers, pencil boxes and cases, folders and binders, backpacks, pencil sharpeners, safety scissors and tab dividers.

They are hoping to be able to donate up to 600 bookbags this year full of needed supplies for youth in the classroom who otherwise might not be able to have them ahead of the start of the school year.
