Bobby Joe Roberson

Mr. Bobby Joe Roberson , age 79, of Aragon, GA, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

Bobby was born in Cartersville, GA, on May 23, 1945, a son of the late Pat Roberson and Donia Ernest Roberson.

He had lived the greater part of his life in Aragon and was retired from General Motors after 30 years of service.

Bobby was a faithful Christian of the Baptist faith and attended Hillside Fellowship Church with his caregiver, Blessie Lanham.

He enjoyed fishing and doing carpentry work, he loved cars, and was an avid NASCAR fan.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Mitchell Roberson, in April of 2016, whom he married in September of 1962. A brother, Pat “Bunk” Roberson, and two sisters, Rachel Roberson and Margaret Sisson also preceded him in death.

Bobby is survived by two daughters, Conda (Johnny) Forsyth, and Sandy (Glen) Popham; two sons, William (Penny) Roberson, and Terry (Elizabeth) Roberson; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Cliff Roberson, and Clyde Roberson; sister, Glenda Perrin. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Bobby will be held on Friday morning, June 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Arrington officiating. Interment will follow in Taylorsville Cemetery.

Bobby’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Thursday evening, June 27, 2024, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will include Lemans Forsyth, Shane Forsyth, Ryan Forsyth, Matt Slayton, Pete Thurman, and Aaron Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will include Vishnu Thesma and Xander Sledge.

Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of the arrangements for Mr. Bobby Joe Roberson.
