The Curious Case of CEIDC’s Carolyn McKnight
CROCKETT – Amidst all of the uproar surrounding Crockett Economic and Industrial Development Corporation (CEIDC), there was one name lost in the shuffle. The Messenger was hesitant to report further on this person, so as to not add more stress to what must have been a difficult year-and-a-half during her paid administrative leave. After the recent moves to take Executive Director James Gentry off paid administrative leave, it’s time to introduce our readers to one of the missing, yet most important pieces of the CEIDC puzzle: Gentry’s Executive Assistant Carolyn McKnight.
Texas Woman Tackles Purse Snatcher
How a Houston Woman Gave a Purse Snatcher a Crash Course in Texas Justice. We all know the slogan "Don't Mess With Texas," right?. It's an advertisement campaign that started in 1986 as a means to discourage folks from littering. One lady in Texas did her part by taking out...

FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY: Higher heat and humidity expected today
SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Today was the hottest day we have seen so far this year! Temperatures reached 105 degrees near Shreveport Regional Airport this afternoon with feels like temperatures spiking up to 114! Texas Teachers Are The Most Overworked In The U.S.
It certainly appears that we aren't taking very good care of our teachers. A number of Texas school districts have kicked off the school year. This type of thing would never be on my radar, except for the fact that a number of teachers posted their Amazon wish lists online in order to receive a little help. If you're unfamiliar with the phenomenon, the teachers are so desperate for classroom basics that they are turning to their communities for a little support. I have to say, it's a bit embarrassing that the State Of Texas doesn't give teachers what they need to do their jobs.
This Disgusting Crime is Happening Way Too Much in Texas
I’m tired of this uncomfortable topic not being discussed, it’s happening way too much in Texas and across the country and it needs to stop. While I admit I don’t watch the news anymore I try to stay up on news and information that applies to Texas, and it seems like this crime is popping up all the time. I am talking about teachers, aides, and administration preying on students.
North Texas faces excessive heat warnings, limited rain chances
NORTH TEXAS — Check this out: A small cluster of thunderstorms northeast of Collin County this afternoon quickly fizzled out. You can see the cumulonimbus tower from our downtown camera. The tower reached about 40,000 feet before collapsing. Excessive heat warnings continue through Monday in the Metroplex, with feels-like temperatures expected to reach 108-112 degrees. Sunday is anticipated to be the hottest day of the year so far. Excessive heat warnings cover most of the region, as shown in purple. These will continue through Sunday evening at 9 p.m. and may need to be extended, or at...

The Olympics has concluded and the United States of America led all Countries in medals with 126. The USA had 40 gold which was tied with China. They also had 44 silvers, and 42 bronze, which led in both categories. An awesome Olympics indeed, however, we live in Texas and are super proud which means we are going to break it down even more.
