Bogert to host SLAM summer cultural fest
Soon taking up residency in Bogert Park for its annual event showcase, the Summer SLAM Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday, August 3rd and 4th. As it has in years past, the 2024 festival will feature artists and performers, culinary artisans and family activities, as well as breweries and distilleries from around the state. One of the unique aspects of the SLAM festival is its spirit of inclusion and community. Free to attend, the summer festival is open to everyone to come and enjoy and connect with the creative people of our great state.

Get ready for some excitement as we introduce the top three leaders from Day One of the 2024 Tiber Walleye Tournament! Leading the pack is the dynamic duo of Ty Hinderager from Fort Shaw and Matt Fischer from Helena who pulled in an impressive 36.08 pounds. Hot on their heels are Jake Monroe and Jeff Ingram, both from Helena, with a solid 35.24 pounds. Holding strong in third today, we have Chris McFadden of Townsend and Brem Phipps from Circle, who reeled in 34.4 pounds.
Northstars Lose Postseason Opening Game
The Havre Northstars started postseason play on Thursday afternoon, taking on the Tri-County Cardinals for the third time in five days, this time in Lethbridge to open up the 2024 North ‘A’ District Tournament. Unlike last weekend’s sweep, the Northstars dropped this one to the Cardinals, (13-6).
Downtown group OK’s funding for Mansfield Theater improvements
The Downtown Development Partnership voted July 24 to recommend approval of $400,000 of tax increment financing funds toward projects in the Civic Center. Two of the projects are to update the Mansfield Theater and the other is to update the building’s elevator to continue to allow access to those with mobility limitations.
