Timothy Ropas of Malone, NY found guilty of kidnapping
MALONE, N.Y. — A Malone man could spend the rest of his life behind bars after he was convicted of kidnapping. A Franklin County jury found 29-year-old Timothy Ropas guilty of several charges including kidnapping, burglary and criminal possession of a weapon in a trial held earlier this month.

Death of man found in Lake Champlain not believed suspicious, police say
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found floating in Lake Champlain but say they do not believe it is suspicious. Burlington police got a report shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday of a possible body in the water at Oakledge Park. They say the U.S. Coast Guard recovered the body.

South Burlington, VT- A Montpelier man who matches the description of a man wanted in connection to a stabbing in Middlesex was arrested in South Burlington on Monday. Police say Shannon Edwards, 39, evaded police by stealing a pick-up truck, and then breaking into a home and holding the homeowner hostage at knifepoint. He is facing multiple charges, including for aggravated assault, unlawful restraint and kidnapping.
