Children’s Book Exposes FBI Tactics Used During Civil Rights Era
Nationwide – Teenagers Autumn Kendall, 14, and Aurora Morgan, 15, are excited to announce the release of their children’s book, The Three Heroes, and their first book signing event in East Harlem, NY on June 4, 2024, at 6pm. The Three Heroes, developed under the 3E Program for Social Justice and Change, is a compelling tale featuring characters inspired by civil rights leaders Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and Chairman Fred Hampton. The story introduces a villain resembling J. Edgar Hoover, who led the FBI’s COINTELPRO operations aimed at undermining these activists. Though the characters are fictional, the book sheds light on historical events and the impact of COINTELPRO.

Rising sustained a left knee injury in their Rose Bowl loss to Penn State, missing all of 2023. His 2022 season was an indicator of what could be this season, starting in 13 games and throwing for 3,034 yards and 26 touchdowns, while rushing for another six touchdowns. The severe injury will sideline him for an extended period of time, but Oklahoma is still hopeful that he could possibly make it back by the end of this upcoming season. Nwankwo made the jump to the Sooners from the junior college ranks earlier this offseason, coming aboard from Cowley College in Kansas.

Seven Injured in Crash in Derby
Seven people are injured following a Sunday morning car accident in Derby, KS. The accident happened around 11am yesterday when two vehicles waiting at a red light were struck from behind by a third vehicle. A total of four people were taken to nearby hospitals following the accident – two with critical injuries and two with serious injuries. No names have been released but the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that three of those hospitalized are children.
