Steve Harvey might be getting his own movie. Deadline reports that Objectively Good Media is in early development on an authorized biopic of the Family Feud host . Titled Seventy-Two , the film will be produced by Mohammed Kheir and Matthew R. Cooper for OGM, as well as Harvey and Steve Harvey Global Chief Strategy Officer Thabiti Stephens' East 112. A writer has not been chosen.

The new film will center "on a transformative 72-hour period, ahead of a career-defining performance for Harvey at the legendary Apollo Theatre in 1993. Seventy-Two will provide audiences an intimate look at the perseverance and challenges that defined Harvey's career. At age 26, Harvey left a secure sales job to pursue a career in comedy, facing numerous obstacles along the way. However, by 36, he was confronting a period of self-doubt and personal struggles as he prepared for the performance that would alter his career trajectory."

OGM came up with the idea and pitched it to Harvey and East 112. In a statement, Harvey said, "I've been reluctant to make a movie about my life for years until I read the pitch for Seventy-Two . It focuses on one of the most difficult moments in my journey and career and shows the world that hope is never truly lost. Wait until you see what we do with this."

Steve Harvey has had a long and prolific career in the entertainment industry. He serves as host of The Steve Harvey Morning Show, Family Feud, Celebrity Family Feud, Family Feud Africa , and Judge Steve Harvey , and previously hosted Miss Universe . He began his career as a stand-up comedian in the early 1980s and had his last stand-up show in 2012. He's also an author and founded The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation with his wife Marjorie, which is a nonprofit focused on youth education.

Seventy-Two sounds like a biopic like no other. As of now, it is still in early development, so no other information has been revealed. Harvey certainly deserves a biopic after all that he's contributed, even though he is not stopping his career any time soon. It's an interesting concept, but there's no telling if it will happen. With news now out about it, more information should come in the following months, but even if it gets the greenlight, it will still be a while. The wait will definitely be worth it.
