    North Boone places second at DuPec meet

    PECATONICA, Ill.—The North Boone boys track and field team got first-place finishes from Collin McKibben and Reagan Korst as it placed second at the DuPec meet on Tuesday.

    The Vikings finished with 155 points to end behind Dakota, which had 188. Pecatonica was third with 75 while South Beloit was sixth with 19.

    McKibben, a sophomore, was first in the 100-meter race (11.91) and in the 200 (23.1) while Korst won the 110-meter hurdles (17.53) and the 300 hurdles (45.12).

    Bradley Dahl was second in the 100 (12.21), Ruben Ramirez was third in the 800 (2:25.74) and Oscar Balsley crossed second in the 3200 (13:23), with teammate Michael Mastroianni finishing third (13:28.9). Mario Ovalle was second in the 110 hurdles (18.21) and 300 hurdles (46.14). The 4x400 relay of Korst, Ovalle, McKibben and Ramirez placed second (3:59.0).

    Hunter Chamberlain was second in the shot put (41’ 8) and Ronald Ragland threw 38’ 3.75 to place third. Zander Haselhorst recorded a distance of 34’ 8.25 to finish third in the triple jump.

    Javonte Carter had the best finish of the day for the SoBos when he placed third in the 100 (12.23). Jonathan Pelayo was eighth in the 200 (28.19) and Nate Blakeman was next in 10th (28.3). Alex Montes ended seventh in the 800 (2:36.98) and eighth in the 1600 (6:20.0).

    Garrett Ludtke was 11th in the shot put (30’ 10.75) and 17th in the discus (66’ 11.5).
