Despite not knowing what prompted his idea, I quickly agreed. Cherry Creek Orchards is famous among North Mississippi locals for its fresh, seasonal produce like peaches, plums, and tomatoes. During our visit, my husband humorously insisted on buying a large box of peaches, which he bit into before even leaving the parking lot. This Saturday, Cherry Creek Orchards will host Peach Festival '24, featuring orchard tours, food trucks, crafts, kids' activities, and live music. It's a perfect day to enjoy Mississippi's finest peaches.

July 18, 2024 — East Mississippi Community College has tapped Kemper County native Daniel Wade to fill the position of band director for the Mighty Lion Band. The hire represents a homecoming for Wade, who graduated from EMCC in 1999. As a student, he marched and played trombone for the Mighty Lion Band during athletic events and played saxophone during the band’s orchestra performances.
