Binghamton Bearcats Shine in Successful Summer Baseball Seasons
Binghamton baseball players made their mark during the summer, participating in various leagues along the East Coast. A total of fifteen Bearcat athletes showcased their skills, with senior Devan Bade leading the charge by hitting .358 and driving in 30 runs for the Sanford Mainers, who reached the NECBL championship series. He earned All-NECBL second team honors and was selected as an all-star. Other standout performances included contributions from Evin Sullivan, Conner Griffin, and Dan McAliney, collectively aiding the Mainers’ playoff run. The Cortland Police Department says 83-year-old Theodore Vincent Testa is missing, has dementia, and may be in need of medical attention. “He was last seen on Homer Avenue in the city of Cortland, Cortland County, at 9:45 PM on Friday, August 30,” according to a missing vulnerable adult alert issued overnight.

County Sheriff’s Blotter: Individual gives false ID and shoplifting
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office released reports of recent arrests in the area. Twomey, 34, of Marathon, was arrested on Sunday (Aug. 25). The county sheriff’s report stated that officers conducted a trespass investigation at the Thrifty Shopper store on Route 281 in Cortlandville. The investigation determined that several individuals were trespassing on the property.
