Calling all gamers, cosplayers, nerds, and self-described geeks: GeekFest West is making its debut in Everett July 19–21. This expo is described as an event for “Everything Geek,” with special events, guest speakers, gaming tournaments, the Cosmic Cosplay Competition, and exhibitor booths selling everything for gamers, fantasy fanatics, sci-fi devotees, anime fans, and more. Along with these offerings, there also will be a geek-themed film festival — The Geekapalooza Film Festival — happening alongside GeekFest West.

Certified nurse-midwife Jacqueline Clubine has joined Olympic Medical Physician’s Women’s Health team, Olympic Medical Center (OMC) officials announced in early July. Clubine will provide women’s health and midwifery services to patients on the Olympic Peninsula. She joins the Women’s Health Clinic team, which together provides well-woman care, contraception, and pregnancy and postpartum care. She will see patients at the OMP Women’s Health clinics in Sequim and Port Angeles.
