PORT HURON — Visiting Nurse Association & Blue Water Hospice is inviting supporters to get onboard a “Classy Cruise” on the Huron Lady II from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

According to a release from VNA & Blue Water Hospice, attendees will have a chance to enjoy music from DJ Josh Meyers, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and spend an evening taking in scenic views of the St. Clair River. Beverages will be available for purchase as well, said Anne Culling, the organization’s marketing and community relations coordinator.

This is the first time the organization is hosting the event.

“It's just supposed to be a relaxing evening, enjoying the sounds and the sights and just some snacks and just having a good time with the people on board,” Culling told the Times Herald.

A portion of the ticket sales will provide charity care for patients across various VNA & Blue Water Hospice divisions, she said.

“We're a nonprofit organization, so we depend on the generosity of our community. And they are a very generous community, so we're very appreciative for what they have given to us, but we want to provide care to everyone, regardless of their financial abilities,” Culling told the Times Herald.

The tickets cost $50 per person, or $45 per person for groups of two or more. Up to 100 guests are able to participate, and there is no age requirement. Registrations are due by July 31 and can be made at vnabwh.org/cruise .
