NCTCOG to host hybrid public meeting
(Special to The Dallas Examiner) – The North Central Texas Council of Governments will host a hybrid public meeting July 8 for North Texans to provide their input on transportation and air quality. The meeting is scheduled for noon at NCTCOG’s Arlington offices, 616 Six Flags Drive. Residents can also watch the meeting live at https://publicinput.com/nctcogJuly24 or participate via phone by dialing 855-925-2801, then code 10300. Public comments will be accepted until Aug. 6.
Nine area girls compete at Miss Texas Teen
, Nine area girls competed in the Miss Texas Teen competition this past week, June 23-29, at the Eisemann Performance Center in Richardson and brought back multiple honors. In addition to those nine, there were 16 youngsters who attended as Texas Lone Star Princesses. The girls stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Richardson all week. Texas A&M Forest Service prepared for wildfire danger as temperatures heat up
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - As it continues to get hotter and drier, the Texas A&M Service is warning about the potential risk of wildfires. According to the Forest Service, the months of July and August normally have the highest potential for wildfire and that remains the case this year. Recently the National Interagency Fire Center bumped up its national preparedness level to three out of five at a time when it would normally be set at level two this time of year. The NIFC said the greatest wildfire risk is in the West, the West Coast and the Great Plains.
