Gold Beach made a significant leap towards improving beach accessibility this week, with the installation of new of Mobi-mats. This was a collaborative effort from local volunteers, the Oregon Coast Visitors Association (OCVA), and the Trailkeepers of Oregon. With the start of the new school year around the corner — and a recent measles outbreak in three Oregon counties — health officials are urging parents and guardians to get their children vaccinated against the highly infectious virus before classes begin. OSHA fines Medford roofing company for putting workers in danger
MEDFORD, Ore. -- The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (OSHA) says they have fined a Medford roofing company $103,438 for not protecting its workers. According to a news release from the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services, the company -- JAM Construction Inc. -- did not put in protection systems that would prevent employees from falling as much as 13 feet to the ground.
