Detectives Investigating Wilmington Area WSFS Bank Robbery
The Delaware State Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred yesterday afternoon at the WSFS Bank in Wilmington. On July 16, 2024, at approximately 2:51 p.m., troopers responded to the WSFS Bank, located at 4601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, for a report of a robbery. The preliminary investigation revealed an unknown white male suspect entered the bank and presented a demand note to the bank teller. The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Troopers attempted to locate the suspect in the surrounding area but were unable to find him.
West Nile virus detected in Allentown; city launches truck-mounted spray operation
ALLENTOWN, Pa. — City officials launched a truck-mounted spray operation Wednesday after mosquitos carrying West Nile virus were recorded within city limits. “West Nile virus is spread by the bite of a mosquito infected with the virus,” according to an email alert sent to residents through the city’s CodeRED Emergency Alert System. “The decision to spray is because mosquito samples collected over the past two weeks show the presence of West Nile virus.”
