Southern Delaware Orchestra sets concerts Aug. 10-11
The Southern Delaware Orchestra will take audiences Out of This World as it performs in concert at 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, at Mariner's Bethel Global Methodist Church, 81 Central Ave., Ocean View, and at 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 11, in Cape Henlopen High School auditorium, 1250 Kings Highway, Lewes.
Johnson Orthodontics teacher gift goes to Love Creek educator
Jonathan Johnson and the team at Johnson Orthodontics ran a special contest during the month of May in honor of National Teacher Appreciation Week. Patients were asked to nominate their favorite teacher and explain why they deserved an A+. The randomly selected winner was Love Creek Elementary School fifth-grade teacher Jill Silicato, who was nominated by her student Diana Chystaya.

Former Harleysville restaurant cashier accused of pocketing thousands of dollars in payments
A former Harleysville restaurant employee is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from his employer over a four-month period. Justin Javon Reed, 25, of the 2400 block of Josie Lane, Harleysville, was charged July 1 by Lower Salford Township Police with felony charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and theft by failing to make required deposit of funds, according to court records.
