There's a search underway to find the person or people responsible for abandoning four dogs in a wooded area of St. Lucie County.

Port St. Lucie Police released images of two of the dogs as well as a white SUV that is believed to have left them behind on July 10th.

Video shows the dogs chasing the vehicle as it drives off after dumping the animals. One of them has died. The other three dogs are with animal control.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. at a spot along Northwest FPL Drive, just west of the Northwest Peacock Boulevard and Northwest University Boulevard intersection.

Police say anyone with information should call them or share their tip with CrimeStoppers at 800-273-TIPS or **TIPS on your cell phone.
