Giant Eagle Inc. has teamed up with grocery technology company Instacart to enable online shoppers to use Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) as a method of payment on eligible products. SNAP recipients in Indiana, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia can now shop online via Instacart for same-day delivery from more than 200 Giant Eagle and Market District stores.

Young Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting Tree In Charles County
BEL ALTON, Md. – On June 25 at 4:40 pm, officers responded to a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Chapel Point Road near the intersection of Purcell Road. A preliminary investigation revealed a 2007 Honda CBR600 motorcycle, operated by Nicolas Conrad Slough, 24, of Bel Alton, left the roadway and struck a tree. Slough was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
