    Portage, WI - PORTAGE - Lisa Reilly, age 59, of Portage, WI, passed away unexpectedly in an accident on Sunday, August 29, 2021. Lisa was born on June 22nd, 1962, in Baraboo , the daughter of Warren and Helen (Hanson) Bidwell. She married Daniel Reilly on August 10th, 1996, in Milton, WI. She worked for Farm and Fleet in Janesville and Baraboo, and later at the Little School in Portage for fifteen years. Lisa enjoyed biking, crafting, scrapbooking, gardening, camping with family, visiting her local coffee and antique shops, traveling the country, and spending time with the people she loved.     1830s melodrama kicks off September events

    Historic Indian Agency House, 1490 Agency House Road, Portage, will host Living History Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18. The Galena Living History Society will perform an 1830s-style melodrama for visitors who may participate by booing at the bad guy and cheering for the hero. The amusements of times gone by will be showcased. The reenactment is included in regular tour admission fees, free for members. Read more

    Portage pantry tests new program offering

    Portage pantry tests new program offering

    Twelve volunteers from the Portage Food Pantry participated in its first onsite food pantry at Riverwood Apartments along with Second Harvest Food Bank on Aug. 26. Results of the “trial run” will be evaluated by the pantry board for possible expansion to other locations. Senior citizens are unable to handle the almost 50-pound box of dry goods provided by the pantry at its pick up window, due to COVID. This program could help alleviate that problem. Read more
