Gators & Gypsies to hold grand opening downtown on Saturday night
Downtown Statesboro can add a new entertainment place to its roster with the grand opening of Gators & Gypsies. Owned by Statesboro native Ginny Hendley, G&G is a new lounge that features arcade games, multiple lounge areas, a bar, pool tables, and more. The lounge will host its grand opening on Saturday, July 20, with doors opening at 6pm. Live music will begin at 7pm and play until 11pm. It is located at 19 E. Vine St. in downtown Statesboro. Huey’s on the River, a popular restaurant in Savannah known for its authentic New Orleans cuisine, is officially on its way to Statesboro. Huey’s in the Boro is opening in downtown Statesboro right on South Main Street, adjacent to the Quality Inn & Suites, making it a highly anticipated addition to the Blue Mile scene. 'Kitten Yoga' classes planned to benefit Fixing the Boro
Coming up this Friday, July 19th, the Trinity Episcopal Church Yoga Ministry will host Kitten Yoga benefiting Fixing the Boro. This is the second year for the Kitten Yoga fundraiser and adoption event. Shelby Phillps, FTB Cat Coordinator shares, “It will be a 'pawsitively purrfect' event to mingle with our adoptable kittens and escape from the mundaneness of the week!” Donating their time are Certified Yoga Instructors, Mel Sparrow, Jessica Keely, Kim Woolfe, and Christan Blount, who focus and specialize in different areas of yoga.
