Signatures turned in for State Question 832 which would raise the minimum wage in Oklahoma
Raise the Wage Oklahoma turned in nearly twice as many signatures as needed to qualify State Question 832 to appear on a ballot, the group reported this week. They had 90 days to gather 92,263 signatures from registered Oklahoma voters, and say they ended up getting about 180,000. If passed, SQ832 would gradually raise the minimum wage in the state to $15.00 an hour by 2029. [See related story HERE]

Cherokee Nation applies to Build New Casino Near Bartlesville
The Cherokee Nation is expanding its casino footprint as they apply to build another new casino near Bartlesville. Cherokee Nation applied to build a new casino on US-75 south of the Bartlesville city limits. The location is only a few miles from the Osage Casino, which opened less than a year ago. Construction on the project would begin in June 2025.

Will Rogers World Airport could see support for nonstop flights through state grant funds.
Airport officials are hopeful that state grants will continue supporting more nonstop flights out of Will Rogers World Airport ahead of a rebranding effort late this summer. Tuesday, the Oklahoma City Council authorized the allocation of $500,000 in limited-tax general obligation bond funding to the Alliance for Economic Development of Oklahoma City. But the decision comes with strings attached: The funds will only be allocated if the organization receives $2.5 million in state grant funding to bring new nonstop air service to the airport.
