David Coit Davies

June 5, 1934 - November 12, 2023 - Sadly, we announce that David died of cardiac arrest in Meridian Park Hospital.

He was born in Portland on June 5, 1934, to Barbara and David Lloyd Davies. David is survived by his wife, Darlene Davies (nee Marentette) and his son by a previous marriage, David Griffiths Davies.

David attended Deerfield Academy, Graduated from Stanford University, and earned his Law Degree from Harvard Law School. He went on to pursue a career as a lawyer in The JAG Corps, US Army, retiring as Lieutenant Colonal.

After retirement, he returned to Portland where he met Darlene. They were married in 1993.

David was a thoughtful, kind, and generous soul; always ready to help someone in need. He loved reciting limericks and poems he had memorized as a child.

He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and time on The Board of The Old Church in Portland, The Board of The Adult Community Center in Lake Oswego as well as The Residents' Council, The Stafford.

On November 20, 2023, David received a Military Memorial Honors Ceremony with the three-gun salute, and a bugler playing Taps. This was followed by the American Flag observance and presentation to Darlene.
