Mark Westcott

August 3, 1948 – March 30, 2024 - Mark Westcott, a Portland native, legendary concert pianist and master teacher, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024, at the age of 75.

He is survived by his sister as well as his dear friends and piano students.

Mark’s 20 year international concert career spanned multiple continents, including Europe, Australia, South America, and Asia, and he was a frequent guest soloist locally as well, invited to perform with the Oregon Symphony on numerous occasions. For those who did not witness his concert career, Mark’s legacy is felt by the numerous recordings he leaves behind on YouTube, his memoir “Playing With Love,” as well as invaluable information he has passed on to his friends and students about piano technique, musicianship, and life. We will miss Mark’s indomitable spirit.
