Seattle Kraken prospect Jagger Firkus Saturday in Portland did more of what he's done at a prodigious pace all season.

In Game 2 of the Western Hockey League Championship, Firkus scored twice and added an assist, leading his Moose Jaw Warriors to a 5-1 victory over the host Portland Winterhawks.

Moose Jaw heads home for Game 3 Tuesday holding a 2-0 series lead. The WHL winner moves on to the Memorial Cup, just as the Seattle Thunderbirds did one season ago.

From a WHL press release: Firkus got the small but mighty contingent of Moose Jaw fans in the crowd on their feet by disrupting a Hawks breakout pass and ripping the puck past Jan Spunar just 15 seconds into the (3rd) period.

"I think it's obviously important, especially in the third period in Portland," Firkus said. "We're only up two goals and they're a team that can score goals pretty quick. I think the start was what we were talking about in the room."

He quickly followed it up with his second goal of the night- a sharp one-timer from the slot off a Kalem Parker feed from behind the Portland net.

For those of you scoring at home (or even if you're alone - sorry, old joke), Firkus is now up to 14 goals and 31 points in 18 postseason games.
