A New Chapter Is On the Horizon For Bambuza Vietnam Kitchen

According to an article from the Portland Business Journal , Bambuza Vietnam Kitchen will soon close its South Waterfront location to move to the downtown area.

A representative of Bambuza Vietnam Kitchen was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Portland’s request.

“The restaurant will hold a closing celebration at the 3682 S. Bond Ave. location on May 13 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The timeline for a new location isn’t final. The company is exploring several locations, which could include building ownership, said Jeff Brown, senior director of operations and innovation,” the article states.

“Our family is so grateful for the unwavering support of our customers and friends throughout the years,” said Chief Operating Officer Daniel Nguyen in a written statement. Nguyen’s parents started what would eventually become Bambuza Hospitality Group.”

“Even as we finally say goodbye to this location, we’re looking to the future. We’re making plans to deepen our roots, move closer to the heart of downtown Portland, and explore new avenues of culinary innovation.”

“Bambuza Vietnam Kitchen & Bar opened in the South Waterfront in 2008. The restaurant was the first to open in the John Ross Building, according to the company. The lease was up for the space and executives started evaluating how to move forward.”

“The bottom line according to the team is the company wants to invest in the city and be a part of downtown Portland’s next chapter. The team noted that the relocation downtown is meant to eventually boost the company’s employment.”
