An uplifting feeling can be good. Unless it’s the bridge in front of you that’s lifting up, and you’re late.

With the end of Rose Festival, the ships visiting Portland for Fleet Week began departing on Monday, June 10. To accommodate the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy ships on the Willamette River, several bridge lifts are needed. These bridge lifts will impact the morning commute.

Bridge lifts began around 6 a.m.

    During the bridge lifts:

MAX service across the Steel Bridge will be disrupted, causing delays on all MAX lines.TriMet will provide shuttle bus service to help keep MAX riders moving around the disruptions.Nine bus lines that use the Steel, Broadway or Burnside bridges will be detoured

All riders should prepare for delays and plan extra time for their trips.

Commuters may go to trimet.org to plan trips and to get up-to-date information about service alerts.

The following bus lines will be impacted:

    Line 4-Fessenden (Steel Bridge)Line 8-Jackson Park/NE 15th (Steel Bridge)Line 12-Barbur/Sandy Blvd (Burnside Bridge)Line 17-Holgate/Broadway (Broadway Bridge)Line 19-Woodstock/Glisan (Burnside Bridge)Line 20-Burnside/Stark (Burnside Bridge)Line 35-Macadam/Greeley (Steel Bridge)Line 44-Capitol Hwy/Mocks Crest (Steel Bridge)Line 77-Broadway/Halsey (Steel Bridge)
