It can be difficult for young players to navigate life in the NBA without the guidance of a veteran or two. Preparing for games, making sure you're getting proper rest and nutrition, and dealing with financial matters can be overwhelming for some young guys. This could have been the case for one unnamed member of the Portland Trail Blazers .

The Blazers have one of the youngest rosters in the league, with a whopping 12 players having just a year or two of experience. With a shortage of veterans on the team, it's not unusual for the young players to make uncommon mistakes in the middle of the season.

One such mistake this unnamed player made was posting his highlight reel dunk at halftime of a game they were losing by double digits. According to Anfernee Simons , the team was shocked to learn this player had the gall to post such a thing during a game.

    A shocking incident

In a conversation with Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes, the six-year pro immediately admitted he wasn't the culprit. However, seeing that he was inside the locker room when that social media post went up, he knows who that player was; he just isn't snitching.

"No, that wasn't me. I don't even feel like posting highlights after the game after we lose. It just doesn't feel right doing that type of stuff," Ant said .

In a day and age dominated by social media, it's not uncommon for professional athletes to share their thoughts and experiences about a game. However, there's a time and place for everything. Sending a social media post during a game you're losing is not the best time.

When the rest of the Blazers learned what had happened, they were shocked and confused.

"It was crazy. People in the locker room were like, 'Did he just do that?… No way he did that. No way,'" Simons shared.

The Blazers guard added they immediately had someone take down the post for the said player, showing the team's swift response to the situation.

"We sent somebody back there to go fix that for him," Anfernee said. "Sometimes, they just don't know. You don't know what you don't know."

    Chauncey was appalled

While Anfernee's reaction was somewhat tame, Portland's head coach, Chauncey Billups , was more straightforward. According to Billups, he had choice words for the involved player.

"Man, you know I grinded his a*s up, man. I get wind of it. I said, 'Ay yo bro. Get the f--k back there and take that s--t off your joint, man. What the f--k is wrong with you, man?'" the former NBA Finals MVP turned coach said on "7PM in Brooklyn," highlighting the seriousness of the incident.

Life in the pro league can be tricky for young men. Mistakes will be made, but they shouldn't be made twice. In the fast-paced world of professional sports, one wrong move can have serious consequences. One player on the Blazers learned that lesson the hard way this past season.
