Traveling can be very stressful, especially during the summer when airports are crowded. Long security lines, flight delays, and jetlag can really take a toll, and this is even more challenging for those who fear flying.

That’s why it’s common to see therapy dogs walking airport terminals to relieve anxiety. Just spotting them can make me smile, even if I don’t get to pet them myself. These fluffy Llamas, with their enormous size and fluffy fur, must provide even more stress relief.

Check out this video shared on July 28 to see how weary travelers at this Oregon airport had their spirits lifted.

ABC News (@ abcnews ) reports two emotional support Llamas were recently spotted trotting around Portland International Airport in Oregon. These giant cuties sported antennas on their heads, bows in their tails, and wore blankets that read, “I love PDX.” Even though I travel often and have no fear of flying, I would love to catch a glimpse of these sweethearts myself. For those with travel anxiety, there’s no doubt that blood pressure levels are reduced after a few minutes of petting these adorable creatures. How lovely that their parent takes the time to share them with those who can benefit from their friendly nature.

Do All Llamas Make Good Therapy Animals?

Ramshorn Llamas reports these unique creatures are highly intuitive and can perceive human pain, discomfort, and anxiety. This enables them to provide comfort and companionship in ways humans cannot. They are increasingly being used as therapy animals in places such as hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and universities. They are even utilized in assisted therapy sessions to provide comfort to individuals discussing painful past experiences. Whether it’s their size, soft fur, soulful eyes, or a combination of these traits, they have a way of uplifting spirits.

People were on board with this trend. One person responded, “This is a great idea. More service animals of any kind, everywhere, please! Everyone is so mad all the time, and everyone is on the verge of going off the rails at any moment. Animals always have a positive effect on people’s moods and health. Maybe we’d all be a little happier.” So true! Viewer @catswithgatz remarked, “I’d rather travel with them than 80% of the people I’ve flown with.” That’s an excellent point. Viewer @tejachardae responded, “I would miss my flight because I would lose track of time petting them. Omg!” That could be a genuine concern for many animal lovers.

Hopefully, this trend will catch on across the country. It would be nice to see more animals helping people improve their emotional state .
