PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — The Multnomah County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution on Aug. 1 to more accurately mirror the City of Portland’s methods of accountability outlined in its three-year, intergovernmental agreement with the county to collaboratively address the region’s homeless crisis.

The adopted “ Homelessness Response System Accountability and Progress ” measures formally set a series of milestones for the county to meet as part of its agreement with the city. Like the city, the resolution also requires the county to review quarterly progress reports on the progress of its “Homelessness Response Action Plan” — the first of which would be presented to commissioners on Oct. 15.

Multnomah County’s Interim Director of its Homelessness Response System, Ryan Deibert, told county commissioners Thursday that he anticipates the county is on pace to provide a progress report by the Oct. 15 deadline.

“We have been working closely with the departments within the county as well as with our partners at the city to look specifically at these deliverables, among many others that aren’t specifically called out in the resolution, and working diligently toward them,” Deibert said. “I don’t have a significant concern about the deadlines.”
