Local roller skater heads to international games in Italy

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A local roller skater is headed to Italy to represent the United States after she won the USA Roller Sports 2024 Junior National tournament.

Anna Berman, a local skater who works at the Oaks Amusement Park Roller Rink and trains with their competitive club, came out on top at the recent tournament in Lincoln, Nebraska. Berman placed first in the Junior Women Free Skating category.

The World Skate Games take place across different parts of Italy at the end of August and also include skateboarding, roller hockey, and scootering.

In a statement, Oaks Park congratulated Berman and wished her good luck on the world stage.

“Her amazing talent, work ethic, and sportsmanship are an inspiration to us all,” the amusement park said. “We are so proud of you, Anna! Now, go show the world what you can do!”
