PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Emergency responders assisted a 12-year-old after he allegedly drank five energy drinks Friday night, authorities said.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 5:15 p.m. in the 18400 block of Northwest Heritage Parkway in Beaverton after the boy “reported being scared and having heart palpitations after drinking five energy drinks.”

“It turned out to be a medical call. Our deputy was on scene only one minute,” a WCSO spokesperson told KOIN 6 News. “American Medical Response (AMR) was also on scene to provide treatment.”

It’s unclear what type of energy drinks the boy consumed.

No further information, including the boy’s condition, has been released at this time.
