Hillary Clinton is coming to Portland weeks before 2024 presidential election
When Hillary Clinton visits Portland this fall on a book tour, she may have some insight into the national moment. Clinton, who ran for president in 2016 and lost the race to Donald Trump, will take the stage at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, just two weeks before an as-yet-undetermined Democrat takes on Trump, now in his third presidential run.

Portland, OR melodic metalcore purveyors Dying Wish and LIHC ass-beaters Pain of Truth have announced a co-headlining tour for this October, with support coming from the Bay Area hardcore band Outta Pocket and Connecticut’s deathcore-ish Balmora. The tour kicks off in Houston on October 7 after Dying Wish and Pain of Truth both play Furnace Fest, and it ends in Brooklyn on Halloween (10/31) at Monarch. There’s also a NJ date at Salty’s Beach Bar (10/29) shortly before the NYC show. Man found seriously injured after stabbing in Fairview
MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) - The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing that injured one person in Fairview early Wednesday morning. Just after 2 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a stabbing in the 20800 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard. Deputies arrived to the scene and found a man with a serious injury.
Power outages begin in Eastern Oregon as wildfire and storms collide
Baker City, OR (CBS2) — Idaho Power is reporting power outages between Baker City and Dixe Oregon. The outages are weather-related and are affecting over 600 customers at this time. Idaho Power has warned residents in Eastern Oregon and Western Idaho that approaching thunderstorms and winds that are expected to reach in excess of 50 mph could cause them to preemptively shut power off in an effort to avoid new wildfire starts.
Update: Air quality alert issued for Oregon
On Wednesday at 6:02 p.m. an updated air quality alert was issued for Crook, Deschutes, Grant, Morrow, Umatilla and Wheeler counties. According to the National Weather Service, "Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air Quality Advisory IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. A Smoke Air Quality Advisory has been issued. Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecasted conditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels. Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes runny nose aggravate heart and lung diseases and aggravate other serious health problems. Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky. Please follow medical advice if you have a heart or lung condition."
