A Portland man posing as an Amazon driver was arrested for allegedly stealing packages at an apartment complex in Washington County.

At around 5 a.m. Aug. 5, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of someone dressed in the company’s uniform stealing packages off of porches at North Ridge Apartments, located at 21159 N.W. Galice Lane in Rock Creek.

Deputies located 46-year-old Jamie Lee Baxter wearing an Amazon vest, a beanie and a baseball cap, according to a press release.

In addition to stealing and opening multiple packages left on doorsteps, Baxter is alleged to have stolen spray paint from an apartment’s back porch and used it to vandalize a vehicle.

Baxter was booked in the Washington County jail on charges of first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree theft.

Investigators believe Baxter may have committed similar crimes, and anyone with knowledge of Baxter is encouraged to call the sheriff's office nonemergency dispatch line at 503-629-0111.

Great 👍 now hopefully the DA will actually prosecute this idiot and the judge will give him a lengthy prison sentence.
