The northbound span of the Interstate 5 Bridge is set to briefly close Saturday night for repairs, ODOT has announced.

The closure will begin at 11 p.m. on Aug. 24 and the bridge is expected to reopen at 7 a.m. Sunday. The northbound on-ramp from Hayden Island to I-5 will also be closed at that time.

According to ODOT, the reason for the closure is so crews can rebuild the drawbridge sign and work on other mechanical systems.

As a detour, ODOT suggests any traffic coming in to Washington should take I-84 East to I-205 North across the Glenn Jackson Bridge over the Columbia River.
