    ‘Peter Pan’

    At Moda Center, Kings of Leon takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 and then Jeff Lynne’s ELO plays at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 in what could be his final appearance in Portland.     ‘Home/Land’

    Hand2Mouth Theatre, WaxFactory and France’s Begat Theater once again will stage the immersive experience “Home/Land,” which focuses on displacement and homelessness. It takes audiences on a journey through a fictional catastrophic event that brings them to a housing camp at Zidell Yards on the South Waterfront. It happens 7 p.m.-10 p.m. Thursdays-Sundays, Aug. 30-Sept. 14. From publicity:

    “Home/Land” is an immersive journey along the paths of personal and collective memories. Within a context of critical instability, when displacement and forced migrations have caused many to leave their homes and everything they hold dear, audience members are each assigned a temporary unit in a fictional government-run shelter village called Lot 6B.

    Actors are Pedro Dominguez, Jenni GreenMiller, Nurys Herrera, Ashley Song and Marissa Sanchez. It’s directed by Michael Cavazos.

    Art in the Pearl

    It’s a big event over Labor Day Weekend. The Pearl Fine Arts and Craft Festival celebrates its 28th year with craft makers from all over the country gathering in the Pearl District/North Park Blocks (Northwest Eighth Avenue between Davis and Flanders streets), Aug. 31-Sept. 2. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday. It’s Portland’s largest outdoor art fair. There’ll be more than 100 juried artists attending from around North America, including the Portland area. They’ll display a large range of artwork for sale — painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry, ceramics, woodworks, fibers and more. It’s free and open to the public.

    The MAiZE

    The MAiZE at the Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island will be one of more than 75 farms across North America to participate in the anniversary tribute to the Peanuts gang with a custom-designed corn maze. It’s the 75th anniversary of Peanuts, the beloved comic strip by Charles Schulz. The MAiZE will feature Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus and Sally and span five acres. It’ll be open Aug. 31-Oct. 31; hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays-Sundays until October, when it’s 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays.

    Air show

    The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are the highlight for the McMinnville version of the Oregon International Air Show, Aug. 31-Sept. 2 at McMinnville Airport.
