About 100 artists welcome visitors to their work spaces on two weekends during Portland Open Studios , 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 12-13 and Oct. 19-20.

    From publicity:

Who are the artists in your neighborhood? Find out during Portland’s oldest and largest art studio tour, which returns this October for its 26th year. You can visit 96 artists in their studios throughout all the neighborhoods in greater Portland. Follow the distinctive yellow and black signs to experience art as it’s being made.

Portland Open Studios is a free and open to the public art studio tour. Artists are juried in by a professional panel with only the top 70% being accepted. This year they have split the tour into six distinct Portland communities to make organizing your own private tour even easier — North, Northeast, Inner Southeast, Outer Southeast, Northwest and Southwest. The contactless tour guide is on the event website , which includes complete information on each artist.

“Twenty-six years ago, Portland Open Studios started as an artist-led initiative to connect the Portland community with the artists who live and work here. There is no better way to see the incredible creativity of this city than in the studios of the artists,” said Kirista Trask, the organization’s executive director.

From Portland Open Studios: "It is the mission of Portland Open Studios to become an essential component in the art community by prioritizing artists and their professional development. We do this by organizing an annual citywide studio tour every second and third weekend in October, providing professional development courses for our member artists and organizing engaging arts-based events for our city."
