Refugio County commissioners again table agenda items concerning animal control facility

NCJLS secretary granted continuance in embezzlement case
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A continuance was granted in the case of the woman accused of embezzling nearly $200,000 from the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show. Sara Rene Chapman accepted a plea deal in April which requires her to admit that she knowingly stole $172,069.17 from the show's accounts to pay personal credit-card bills via 55 wire transactions from 2018-2023.
Ingleside gets down and dirty for Garden Club fundraiser
Residents and Ingleside businesses were asked to “Throw The Dirt On Us” and, boy, did they bring on the dirt. The Ingleside Garden Club received a total of more than $1,000 worth of potting soil as part of a fundraiser. The soil will be used for various projects the club is involved with to beautify the city. Cash donations were also given, which will be used to buy potting soil.
