Lorenzo was supposed to return the girl that evening according to a custody agreement over the girl, police said. Authorities also said Obi’s call came after she learned Lorenzo had been found dead in San Francisco and that her daughter, Ellie, was not with him.

Alex Hong, the chef behind Michelin-starred Sorrel in Pac Heights, announced Tuesday that he is opening a new restaurant and bakery in the expansive Slanted Door space, with an expected opening date of early 2025. Details are scarce on the style of food and the name of the new project, but a press release teases that it will be a “large format, full-service restaurant offering a seasonal ingredient menu rooted in the bounty of the California coastline.” The restaurant will have an open kitchen, seated bar, outdoor seating, and showstopper, Bay Bridge-facing, floor-to-ceiling windows. Meanwhile, the connected bakery will focus on laminated pastries.
