    Friday Seacoast roundup: Traip baseball, Winnacunnet softball each walk off with wins

    KITTERY, Maine - Chris Balano laced a game-winning, two-run single as the Traip Academy baseball team rallied for a 4-3 win over Waynflete on Friday in a Class C South game.

    Balano also earned the win, allowing one hit over two scoreless innings. Caleb French had two hits for the Rangers, including a solo home run, while Colby Christiansen had three hits.

    Traip starter Alec Webster allowed two hits and two earned runs over five innings.

    BASEBALL

    Timberlane 2

    PLAISTOW - Senior Timmy Knight struck out 11 and allowed two hits over five innings as Winnacunnet improved to 10-7 in Division I with its fifth straight win.

    Mason McDonald's two-run triple in the second gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead; he then scored on a Connor Fowler's ground-out to short. Jackson Larck's sacrifice fly to center in the sixth scored McDonald, increasing Winnacunnet's lead to 4-0.

    Timberlane scored single runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

    ROCHESTER - Wesley Alfonso had a single and scored four runs for Spaulding (6-10) in a Division I loss.

    Darian Mercedes had two hits for the Red Raiders, while Hunter Trueman had a single and two RBIs.

    St. Thomas Aquinas 9

    Kingswood 3

    WOLFEBORO - Graham Willerer struck out eight and allowed four hits and one earned run over seven innings, leading St. Thomas in Division II action.

    Willerer, Kenny Avery, Michael Skowron, Thaao Papakonstantis, and Charlie Covert all had two hits. Skowron added three RBIs, and Covert and Ryan Gould both had two.

    Lebanon 9

    LEBANON - Louis Goldberg's two-run homer tied the game in the fifth, and Ryan Michaud's two-run single gave Oyster River the lead for good in this Division II game.

    Eli Pierce earned the win, while Owen Jacques got the save.

    Cape Elizabeth 10

    York 6

    YORK, Maine - The Capers scored four runs in the ninth inning, earning this Class B South win.

    York led 6-2, but Cape scored four runs in the fourth inning, and the game was followed by four scoreless innings.

    Jack Joyce, who had two hits and an RBI, struck out seven and allowed two earned runs over seven innings. Leo Sullivan had two RBIs for the Wildcats, while John Jacobsohn had one.

    Winnisquam 5

    SOMERSWORTH - Will Sneddon had two hits and three RBIs, and Simon Grandmaison and Camden Pettengill both had two hits and two RBIs for Somersworth in this five-inning, Division III game.

    Logan Perrault had a hit and two RBIs for the Hilltoppers, while Jack Rossiter had a hit and an RBI, and Kaden Bickford, Lukas Kelly and Eric Goodrich all had a hit.

    FARMINGTON - Five different pitchers combined on a one-hitter for Portsmouth Christian Academy (11-3) in this Division IV win.

    Jason Ludwig led PCA with two doubles and two RBIs.

    HAMPTON - Maeva Shapiro clouted a game-winning, walk-off three-run homer for Winnacunnet (14-2) in this Division I game.

    Lucy Gelbstein had three hits for the Warriors, while Maddy Eaton, Lilly Snow and Halisa Carter all had one.

    NASHUA - Nev Haugh had three hits and three RBIs as Exeter improved to 13-3 with this Division I win.

    Senior Kaylee Leonard struck out five and allowed five hits over five innings, earning her first varsity win.

    Annie Christiana and Dejah Rondeau both had two hits, scored three and drove in one for the Blue Hawks, while Madi Paige (two hits, four RBIs, three runs), Summer LeClerc (hit, two RBIs), Leonard (hit, two RBIs), Kasey Iverson (hit) and Julia Calais (hit) led the offense.

    YORK, Maine - Maddie Fitzgerald blasted a grand slam and a two-run homer as York improved to 12-0 with this Class B South win.

    McKayla Kortes also had a grand slam for the Wildcats, who got three hits from both Nya Avery and Emily Estes.

    LEBANON - Maddy Veno struck out seven and allowed two hits over six innings, earning this Division II win.

    Meagan Rinko and Maeve Hickok both had two RBIs for the Bobcats.

    DOVER - Elizabeth Pelletier, Amelia Anderson, and Maddie Hoyt each had one hit for St. Thomas Aquinas (13-1) in this Division III loss to undefeated Prospect Mountain.

    PORTLAND, Maine - Laurali Shisler, Pipe Catanese and Lindsay Bennett all had a hit for the Hawks in this Class A South loss.

    PORTSMOUTH - Annie Parker scored five goals, including the 200th of her career for Portsmouth in its Division I win.

    Morgan Ruhnke had six goals and one assist for the Clippers, while Lily Patterson had two goals, and Ginger Vinciguerra, Addie Delisle (four assists), Georgia Bouvier, Ella Souza and Raegan Lawton all had one.

    Portsmouth goalie Sage Bussiere had 10 saves.

    NASHUA - Rylen Gray's six goals and one assist led Dover to this Division I win. Megan Healy added three goals and four assists for the Green Wave, and Khloe Healy and Meredith Tolend both had three goals.

    Kiley Campbell and Sydney Lane also scored for Dover, while Karan Small and Reese Sanders both had one assist.

    DURHAM - Shea Graham's six goals led Winnacunnet to this Division II win. Sky Mace had four goals for the Warriors, while McKinley Fowler and Emmy Granger both had three.

    Elle Emery added two goals in the win, and Reese Gandt had one.

    Jake Failla, Alex Moody and Tyler Callander all scored for the Bobcats, who got four saves from Cole Norris.

    MILFORD - Charlotte De Tolla had five goals and Megan Leahy had four for St. Thomas Aquinas in this Division III win.

    Lizzy Holden, Cat Vetter, Kat Dornan and Izzy Taylor all had two goals for the Saints, while Reece Anderson and Julia Bryan both had one. STA goalie Brea Barker had two saves, and Juliana Grella and Ava Lyder starred defensively.

    KITTERY, Maine - Sarah Carven's three goals led 12 different Rangers scored in this Senior Day Class C win.

    Frances Burke, Jacey Johnson, and Madison Rohan all had two goals for Traip, while Caroline Carven, Elivia Mandani, Keira Alessi, Quinn Butler, Delia Harley, Shea Johnson, Sadie Latchaw and Keira Durgin all had one.

    Traip goalie Charlotte Massi had nine saves.

    ROCHESTER - Finley De Tolla's three goals and five assists led St. Thomas Aquinas (11-3) to this Division II win.

    Aidan Morrison had three goals and three assists for the Saints, while Ryan Resch, Ben Bryan and Michael Ellis all had three goals, Trent Salyards and Luke Daly both had two, and Zach Bottril, Davin Pintrelli and Aidan Molt all had one.

    STA goalie Jake More had seven saves.

    NASHUA - Nick Meyers (No. 3, 8-6) and Nick Rosa (No. 6, 8-2) both won in singles action for Exeter in this Division I match.

    Exeter won at No. 2 doubles via forfeit.

    DOVER - Tory Vitko (No. 1, 8-2), Paige Wilson (No. 2, 8-1), Kate Ross (No. 3, 8-0), Mia Mozzoni (No. 4, 8-2) Ashlynn Swierk (No. 5, 8-0) and Sarah Bastille (No. 6, 8-0) all won in singles for Dover, which concluded its Division I regular season at 12-2.

    In doubles, Vitko and Ross won 8-1 at No. 1, Wilson and Mozzoni won 8-1 at No. 2, and Bastille and Swierk won 8-0 at No. 3.

    KEENE - Clea Gibson (No. 2, 8-2), Kathryn Demarest (No. 3, 8-0), Sofia Karageorgos (No. 4, 8-0), Jessica Li (No. 5, 8-0) and Megan Zehetner (No. 6, 8-0) all won in singles for Oyster River in a Division II match.

    In doubles, Sofie and Clea Gibson won 9-8 at No. 1, Demarest and Karageorgos won 8-2 at No. 2, and Li and Zehetner won 8-2 at No. 3.

    VOLLEYBALL

    HAMPTON - Murphy Wall had 12 kills, and Bryce Molnar had three kills, 24 assists and seven aces for Winnacunnet in this Division I match.

    Individual set scores were 25-14, 28-30, 25-22, 14-25, 16-14.

    Carter King added 21 digs, three aces and three assists for the Warriors.
