KENSINGTON — The New Hampshire attorney general's office has released the names of the seven officers who discharged their firearms during a July 22 shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 29-year-old Kensington man.

The officers involved were assigned to the regional emergency response teams.

The shooting took place hours after police responded to Olivia Lane at about 12:05 p.m. Monday, July 22, to follow up on a mental health call from the previous night. According to state police, Kensington officers received information about a male in the home criminally threatening another occupant.

A multi-hour standoff followed, and police warned the public to shelter in place due to a "possible barricaded person with a firearm."

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., during an "ensuing encounter with the armed male," six police officers discharged their firearms, and one officer discharged a less-lethal munition, according to the state attorney general's office.

The man fatally shot was identified as Anthony J. Previte and the manner of death was gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

The state attorney general's office said the investigation by the New Hampshire Department of Justice, with the assistance of the New Hampshire State Police Major Crimes Unit, is ongoing.

"The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation," according to the state attorney general's office press release. "It is anticipated that the report regarding the incident and whether the use of deadly force against Mr. Previte was justified will be released once the investigation is completed."

The officers involved were Portsmouth police Sgt. Peter Connor, Durham police Sgt. Craig Forrest, Seabrook police officer Nicholas Glowacki, Hampton police Detective Robert Kenyon, Hampton police Corporal Jay Pappalardo, UNH police officer Felix Siegels and Exeter police Sgt. Theodore Sierad. The officers have between six and 17 years of experience, according to the state attorney general's office.

Pappalardo fired a less-than-lethal projectile launcher, and the remaining officers fired rifles, according to the state attorney general's office.
