Rite Aid pharmacies have steadily closing, including four in New Hampshire.

Nationwide drugstore chain Rite Aid filed for bankruptcy in October of last year. Ever since then, it has announced the closures of hundreds of stores.

"Rite Aid Corporation is also proud to be one of the nation's leading drugstore chains," the company website says. "With approximately 1,700 retail pharmacy locations across 16 states, we have a strong presence on both the East and West Coasts, employing more than 51,000 associates."

While, that is true, the number of retail pharmacy locations used to be well over 2,000. However, since declaring bankruptcy, that figure has diminished to 1553 stores, according to the Rite Aid store locations webpage.

Are there any Rite Aid stores left in New Hampshire

There are 49 Rite Aid stores in New Hampshire.

In New Hampshire, there are far more Rite Aids still operating than in other New England states. In Connecticut, 12 stores have closed, leaving only 15 left. And, in Massachusetts, there were originally eight locations open, which have been cut down to four.
