ROCHESTER — MVSB (Meredith Village Savings Bank) is proud to support Hope on Haven Hill with a $1,500 Hope Springs Eternal Fundraising Gala sponsorship and a $10,000 tax credit purchase through the Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) . Hope on Have Hill was awarded tax credits to help support the next construction phase of their Center for Hope and Wellness in Rochester.

“MVSB has been a strong supporter and advocate of Hope on Haven Hill, and their thoughtful efforts will help us expand programming, offer childcare and develop a workforce training program once the center is complete,” said Kerry Norton, Hope on Haven Hill Executive Director. “We are thrilled about the support we have received from this wonderful community.”

“Hope on Haven Hill is a vital community organization and we are grateful for all the work they do to support women and families in need throughout New Hampshire,” said Jolene Whitehead, MVSB Branch & Business Development Manager.

Hope on Haven Hill has been fundraising for their Center for Hope and Wellness, an 8,000-square-foot facility currently under construction at the site of the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Charles Street in Rochester.

Hope on Haven Hill’s mission is to support recovery and nurture the health and wellbeing of pregnant and parenting women with substance use disorder and their children by ensuring access to quality treatment and services. CDFA tax credits allow businesses to fund qualifying economic or community development projects in exchange for a tax credit that can be applied against state business tax payments. The tax credits are administered by the New Hampshire CDFA. Any business with operations in New Hampshire that contributes to a CDFA tax credit project receives a New Hampshire state tax credit worth 75 percent of their contribution. The credit can be used over a period of five years to reduce the business’ state tax liability (business profits, business enterprise, or insurance premium taxes). The tax credit program allows New Hampshire businesses to use their state tax dollars to support local projects that they care about. CDFA reviews many project applications each year, and awards tax credits to those they determine are feasible and will make the biggest impact on economic development in the state.
