York Rotary Club’s 45th annual Four on the 4th road race nets $31K

YORK — The York Rotary Club’s 45th annual Four on the 4th road race was a success this year, drawing 1,000 participants for the scenic four-mile route from York High School to Short Sands Beach and back along Long Sands Beach.

Organized in collaboration with the York Parks and Recreation Department , the event raised more than $31,000 through race registrations and sponsorships from local businesses, including Estes Oil & Propane, CMG Home Loans, NVest Financial, Eco Products, Anchorage Inn and Aland Realty.

“This was the biggest and best race year yet," said Cindy McKenna, York Rotary race coordinator. "It really is a wonderful community event with locals as well as visitors here on vacation enjoying this kick-off to summer in beautiful York, Maine!”

This year, the event featured a free pre-race party on the afternoon of July 3 at York High School, coinciding with early bib pick-up. The party included bounce houses, cookies, popsicles, music, and yard games on the ball field, providing fun for all ages.
