    Wednesday Seacoast Roundup: Carberry, Dover volleyball rally past Winnacunnet

    HAMPTON - Quinn Carberry had five aces and 28 assists as the Dover High School volleyball team opened its season with a 3-2 win over Winnacunnet on Wednesday in a Division I contest.

    Individual game scores were 25-14, 23-25, 17-25, 25-12, 15-8,

    Reagan Bernard had 14 kills and five aces for the Green Wave, while teammate Leah Meneely had 12 digs.

    For Winnacunnet, Emily Pitfick had 15 assists, Sydney Heestand had eight kills and Lyra Kleimola had six digs, three aces, and two kills.

    VOLLEYBALL

    Exeter 3

    Alvirne 0

    HUDSON - Grace Archibald had 12 kills and three blocks and Gabby Dale had 23 assists and nine aces, leading Exeter to this Division I win.

    Individual game scores were 25-16, 25-19, 27-25.

    Somersworth 3

    St Thomas Aquinas 0

    DOVER - Paige Demers had seven kills and five blocks as Somersworth opened with this Division II win.

    Individual game scores were 25-11, 25-17, 25-16.

    Sya McKay (six kills), Emily Runions (five kills), Katelyn Whiteman (18 service points), Kylie Pettingill (18 assists) and Lillie Hamilton (11 digs) all starred for the Hilltoppers.

    For St. Thomas, Alaina Hathaway had six kills, Julia Stowell 11 assists, and Kaity Kelly six digs.

    Portsmouth Christian Academy 3

    Epping 0

    DOVER - Quinn Arico's nine kills, 10 assists, and five aces led PCA to this season-opening Division III win.

    Individual match scores were 25-19, 25-23, 25-11.

    Maycie Andress (six kills, three aces), Lily Druge (eight aces), and Emma Eisner (five aces, seven digs) led the Eagles.

    FIELD HOCKEY

    Winnacunnet 1

    Merrimack 0

    MERRIMACK - McKinley Fowler, on an assist from Fiona McAfee, scored the game's only goal as Winnacunnet improved to 2-0 in Division I.

    Amber Morgado had four saves, earning the shutout.

    Exeter 8

    Manchester Memorial 0

    EXETER - Elsa Bishop had three goals and Emilee Butanes, Emma Mohns, Dani Caron, Olivia Levitsky and Emma Cummings all had one for Exeter in its Division I win.

    Sophomore goalie Amalia Goss earned the shutout.

    Oyster River 6

    Kingswood 0

    DURHAM - Alaina Pryzbilsky had three goals and Rowynn Pickering, Rose Goldsmith and Sadie McLeod all had one for the Bobcats in this Division II game.

    Olivia Andersen and Nora Rogers both starred in the win.

    Newfound 0

    DOVER - Leah Walsh and Abbie Gaynor played well in this Division III tie for the Saints.

    EPPING - Jaela Stockbower's two goals and one assist led PCA (1-1) to this Division IV win.

    Freshman Svea Howe had two goals and one assist for the Eagles, while Eliza Arwood had eight saves.

    BOYS SOCCER

    Portsmouth Christian Academy 0

    DOVER - Jackson Malone had 11 saves in goal for Portsmouth Christian Academy (0-2) in its Division IV loss.

    GOLF

    Freeport 161

    FREEPORT, Maine - TJ Reagan had two birdies and finished with a 1-over-par 37 as York improved to 3-0 on the season at Maine Golf Center.

    Ryan Cummins carded a 3-over-par 39 for the Wildcats, while Riley Butters shot a 40, Liam Connors a 42, and Lachlan McMorris a 45.
