    Seacoast roundup: Johnston, Exeter golf rolls in opener; Marshwood volleyball rolls

    EXETER - Senior Jascha Johnston shot a 1-over-par 36 as the Exeter High School golf team opened its season Thursday with three wins at a Division I match at Exeter Country Club.

    Exeter had a team score of 195, beating Bishop Guertin (201), Londonderry (209) and Salem (215).

    Jack Harrington and Nolan Engler both shot a 39 for the Blue Hawks.

    GOLF

    Winnacunnet sweeps, remains unbeaten

    NORTH HAMPTON - Greyson Belliveau shot a 2-under-par 33 and led Winnacunnet to a four-team sweep at Sagamore Country Club.

    Winnacunnet had a team score of 184, beating Oyster River (208), Kennett (217) and Alvirne (226).

    Chris Berry shot a 1-over-par 36 for the Warriors, while Alex Santora had a 37, Jimmy Schouller a 38, and Elliot Brinser a 40.

    For Oyster River, Teagan Nadeau shot a 1-under-34, and Owen Jacques had a 41.

    St. Thomas takes two of three

    WOLFEBORO - Ryan Allard shot a medalist round of even-par 35 for St. Thomas Aquinas in a four-team match at Kingswood Country Club.

    Bow won with a team score of 200, while St. Thomas shot a 208 and placed second. Kingswood (214) and Hollis-Brookline (256) placed third and fourth, respectively.

    Joe Mollica shot a 38 for the Saints, while Finn Perry had a 42, Cooper Choate a 45, and Shawn Turcotte a 48.

    SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Brynn Folger had 15 assists and seven aces as Marshwood won its Class A home opener.

    Individual set scores were 25-18, 25-17, 25-18

    Kylie Folger added 15 digs for the Hawks, while Sivan Semo and Riley Phipps both had seven kills.

    Portsmouth 0

    PORTSMOUTH - Pat Bancroft, Gar Hindle and Sawyer Bouvier all played well for Portsmouth (2-1) in this Division I loss.

    St. Thomas Aquinas 0

    KINGSTON - The Saints put 29 shots on net, but couldn't find the equalizer in this Division III match.

    Angus Forman and Ryan Resch played well for the Saints, while Ben Puertas and Jack Daly shared time in goal.

    Cape Elizabeth 2

    York 1

    YORK, Maine - Robbie Hanscom, off an assist by Jacob Donnell, scored the lone goal for York in this Class B South match.

    GIRLS SOCCER

    Nashua South 1

    Portsmouth 0

    NASHUA - Portsmouth goalie Anna Vitali had five saves in this Division I loss for the Clippers. Piper Hindle and Avery Porter both played well for Portsmouth (1-1).

    Winnacunnet 1

    Londonderry 0

    LONDONDERRY - Isla Christie scored off an assist from Liana Pacheco as Winnacunnet improved to 3-0 with this Division I.

    Sophomore Julianne Banks had five saves, earning the shutout, the third in three games for the Warriors. Moxie Clifford, Sophia Guimaraes, and Libby Maloney all played well for Winnacunnet.

    SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Riley Smith scored the lone goal for Marshwood in its Class A South season opener.

    Cape Elizabeth 4

    York 1

    CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine -Scarlett Ring's goal on a penalty kick was the lone tally for York in its Class B South opener. Chloe DeLuca, Veda Kiper Phelps and Tessa Spaulding all played well for the Wildcats.

    FIELD HOCKEY

    Poland 0

    YORK, Maine - Bella Santini had two goals, and Nya Avery, Amelia Parks Scully and Elouise McAllister all had one for York in its Class B South win.

    Sophomore Sarah Orso had two saves, earning the shutout.
