    College football: UNH beats Holy Cross; WHS' Fuller scores for Crusaders

    WORCESTER, Mass. – Logan Tomlinson caught two touchdowns and Isaac Seide rushed for a career-high 161 yards to lead the University of New Hampshire football team to a 21-20 victory over Holy Cross Saturday afternoon at Fitton Field.

    North Hampton's Jordan Fuller, who helped the Winnacunnet High School to the 2017 Division I state championship, had 23 rushes for 84 yards and a touchdown for the Crusaders.

    Tomlinson finished with eight catches for 85 yards, including the 12- and 2-yard TDs. Seide carried the ball 18 times, which included a 1-yard touchdown that gave UNH the 21-20 lead at 9:18 of the fourth quarter.

    Seth Morgan completed 17 of 22 passes for 158 yards and the two TD connections with Tomlinson.

    Brendan Tighe secured the victory with an interception at midfield on a 3rd-and-43 play from the HC 24 with 27 seconds remaining. He also finished with a career-high eight tackles.

    Wande Owens led the Wildcats with 10 tackles and Josiah Silver had eight tackles, one sack and a QB hurry.

    UNH improves to 1-1 and Holy Cross is 0-2.

    New Hampshire returns to action next Saturday for its home opener against Stonehill College for Youth Sports Day.
