    Wednesday Seacoast Roundup: Dover's Leonardi, York's Santini lead field hockey teams

    DOVER - Giana Leonardi had two goals and the Dover High School field hockey team beat Bedford, 2-1 on Wednesday in a Division I game.

    Erin Lynch and Hannah Deroy both had an assist for the Green Wave, who improved to 8-1-1 on the season.

    Dover goalie Scarlett Gray had five saves.

    FIELD HOCKEY

    York 2

    CUMBERLAND, Maine - Bella Santini scored both goals for York (4-2) in its Class B South overtime win.

    St. Thomas Aquinas 3

    Hopkinton 2

    HOPKINTON - Kadence Law and Emma Massicotte both had one goal and one assist for St. Thomas Aquinas in its Division III win. Leah Walsh also scored for the Saints.

    It was the fourth straight win for the Saints, who are now 4-2-1 on the season. STA goalie Kenslie Harris had 10 saves.

    Exeter 5

    Timberlane 0

    EXETER - Poppy Schaffer, Olivia Levitsky, Alexa Zaimes, Dani Caron and Maisie Meyers all had a goal for Exeter (8-1) in Division I action.

    Amalia Gloss earned the shutout.

    GIRLS SOCCER

    Newmarket 4

    Portsmouth Christian Academy 0

    NEWMARKET - AJ Mulligan had two goals and one assist, and Olivia Blackadar and Amelia Rabb both had one goal and one assist for Newmarket in its Division IV win.

    Newmarket goalie Kaya Dobberstein earned the shutout, while Paige Sweitzer had a strong game at attack.

    PCA goalie Eliza Arwood had eight saves.

    SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Braeden Gagnon and Tony Piazza both scored a goal for Marswood in its Class A South win.

    Rogan Boisvert and Brevan Lavin each had an assist for the Hawks, who got two saves from Carter Shaw in the shutout.

    Portsmouth Christian 3

    NEWMARKET - Brayden Leland had two goals and Sam Monahan had one for PCA (2-4-2) in its Division IV tie. Bennett Money added two assists for the Eagles.

    ROCHESTER - Ali Sullivan's nine kills and 14 digs led Dover in its Division I loss. Individual set scores were 25-23, 25-21, 17-25, 22-25, 15-11.

    Ayla Raynor had 16 digs for Dover, and teammate Grace Kelly had five aces.

    Kingswood 0

    DOVER - Alaina Hathaway (15 digs), Jules Stowell (12 assists) and Kaity Kelly (six kills) led STA to this Division II win.

    Individual set scores were 25-7, 25-20, 25-17.

    Somersworth 3

    SOMERSWORTH - Sya McKay had nine kills and Paige Demers had seven blocks as Somersworth improved to 8-0 with this Division II win.

    Individual set scores were 25-14, 25-18, 25-9.

    Savanna Comeau (four kills, four blocks), Emily Runions (five kills) and Kylie Pettengill (19 assists) all contributed for the Hilltoppers.

    Portsmouth Christian Academy 3

    Raymond 0

    RAYMOND - Quinn Arico's 11 kills, fives aces, 10 assists and seven digs led PCA (5-1) to its Division III win.

    Individual set scores were 25-19, 25-12, 25-22.

    Heidi Geyer (seven kills) and Emma Eisner (12 digs) both shined for the Eagles.

    GOLF

    Exeter second at four-team match

    WINDHAM - Jascha Johnston carded a 2-over-par 38, leading Exeter to a second-place finish at a four-team match at Windham Country Club.

    Windham had a team score of 208, beating Exeter (213), Nashua North (218) and Keene (219).

    Brady Smith and Nolan Engler both shot a 42 for the Blue Hawks.

    PORTSMOUTH - Midfielders Annabelle Goss and Sierra Chapnick both played well for Portsmouth, while Bexley Parkington starred defensively, and goalie Charlotte Daboul had eight saves.
