    Saturday Seacoast Roundup: Exeter boys soccer hangs on at Keene, more results

    KEENE - Alan Barretto, Nick Meyers, Cooper Vitti and Aidan Powers all scored a goal as the Exeter High School boys soccer team beat Keene, 4-3, on Saturday in a Division I match.

    Exeter, with two games left in the regular season, is now 12-0-2.

    Barretto, Jude Keener and Pav Pazourek all had an assist for the Blue Hawks, who got four saves from goalie Alex Fooa.

    YORK, Maine - Freshman Ava Hickey turned away 10 shots and earned her third shutout of the season with this Class B South tie.

    Veda Kiper Phelps, Chloe DeLuca, Ava Fontaine, Tessa Spaulding and Zoe Carroll all played well for the Wildcats.

    BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

    Exeter places three in top 20 at Boston invite

    BOSTON – Exeter had three runners in the top 20 in the Catholic Memorial Invitational Silver race in Franklin Park, and placed third in the 13-team field.

    Exeter’s Spencer Mann (eighth overall, 17:07), Logan Poteet (17 th , 17:35.1) and Ian Cottrill (18 th , 17:35.2) all placed in the top 20. Other Exeter runners included Marcus Clark (33 rd , 18:13) and Xavier Garcia de Pare (37 th , 18:21).

    Portsmouth's Peters sets school record

    PORTSMOUTH - Senior Nolan Peters set a Portsmouth High School school and course record in a six-team meet, placing first in a time of 17 minutes, 12 seconds.

    Portsmouth won the meet with a score of 26, while Souhegan (49), Newmarket (83), Spaulding (123), Timberlane (127) and Trinity (144) rounded out the field.

    Other runners for Portsmouth included Will Hart (fourth, 18:21), Logan Chasse (sixth, 18:56), Luke Boynton (seventh,  18:57), Nico Ranalli (eighth, 19:10) and Daniel Sabalakov (ninth, 19:14).

    GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

    Exeter girls second at Boston invite

    BOSTON – Exeter’s Eli Cross (eighth overall, 19:26) and Alexis Paterna (ninth, 29 minutes, 31 seconds) both placed in the top 10 at the Catholic Memorial Invitational in Franklin Park.

    Lexington (Mass.) High School won the meet, while Exeter was second.

    Other Exeter runners in the 200-person field included Briana Paterna (34 th , 20:42), Molly Kells (36 th , 20:46) and Claire Wilhelm (40 th , 22:00).

    Portsmouth wins four-team race

    PORTSMOUTH - Junior Ava Barrows placed second overall in a time of 22 minutes, 54 seconds, leading Portsmouth a first-place showing in a four-team race.

    Portsmouth had a team score of 32, beating Newmarket (36), Souhegan (60) and Trinity (94).

    Other runners for Portsmouth included Kelsey Campbell (third, 23:00), Georgia Parrott (fourth, 23:08), Jenny Ryan (10th, 24:11), and Kayla Ryan (21st, 25:22).

    VOLLEYBALL

    Portsmouth Christian splits two matches

    MEREDITH - Portsmouth Christian ended its regular season with a 3-1 win over Masenic and a 3-0 loss to Inter-Lakes.

    In the win over Mascenic, Quinn Arico had 16 kills, 17 assists, 11 aces and five digs for PCA (13-3). Teammates Heidi Geyer (seven kills), Lexi Jordan (10 assists, nine digs), and Marion Spurr (eight digs) starred.
