PORTSMOUTH — Strawbery Banke Museum recently announced that Vintage & Vine – A Wine Festival in Historic Style will be moving to Thursday, Sept. 12. The event, now in its 36th year, has previously occurred on the second Saturday in September. The Vintage & Vine event committee has moved the event to a new date, creating additional opportunities for participation and ensuring the availability of key restaurant and wine partners.

“After discussions with several key stakeholders, we made the necessary decision to move the event to a Thursday evening,” said Joanna Kelley, Strawbery Banke Trustee and Vintage & Vine Co-Chair. “Ongoing staffing shortages have posed obstacles for several restaurants, making it challenging for them to allocate time for food preparation and staffing of the event on a Saturday evening. This date change helps ensure that the event can continue to thrive, maintaining the involvement of our key partners and upholding its high standards of excellence.”

“We're excited for the new opportunities that moving to a Thursday opens up,” said Sarah Earnest, Strawbery Banke Museum Trustee and Vintage & Vine Co-Chair. “Not only does this change allow us to retain our key partners, but it also provides us with the chance to collaborate with new restaurants, wine distributors, and wineries.”

“In addition to last year's efforts, we're also exploring new ways of incorporating elements of history and Strawbery Banke's mission into Vintage & Vine,” continued Earnest. “We're excited for the community to experience the new additions this year.”

The event, which occurs outdoors throughout the Museum’s 10-acre site, heirloom gardens, and historic landscapes, offers guests the opportunity to sample an extensive selection of fine wines and imaginative cuisine prepared by greater Seacoast-area top chefs and caterers.
