The days are hot and long, and that means one thing: Ice cream time.

To get the scoop on the best places on the Seacoast to get an ice-cream cone, The Portsmouth Herald recently put it to readers in an unscientific poll . First, we asked readers to nominate places to include in the poll on our Facebook page, which we then compiled into a true poll.

The votes are in. Hundreds of readers voted and here are the top 7 best ice cream shops on the Seacoast.

    Winner: Lago's Ice Cream
